Vector I – Observe to monitor
Observe the needs of statistical information, to build its own system of statistical production in the area of tourism, which includes analyzes of opinion surveys on tourism in the Azores Autonomous Region, in an approximation based on knowledge of demand.
Vector II – Observe to study
Observe the needs of in-depth knowledge of regional tourism, in order to produce scientific and technical studies on the tourist reality in the region, thus assuming its role as an encouraging, producer and disseminating body of this theoretical and applied at the regional level.
Vector III – Observe to inform
Observe the information needs on the tourist activity in the Azores Autonomous Region, to create and develop adequate levels of transmission of relevant information, in good time, to the agents operating in the tourism sector of the A.A.R..
Vector IV – Watch to form
Observe the labor market of the tourism sector in the Azores Autonomous Region, in order to contribute to the training and professional qualification of all the agents who intervene in it and promote the tourist culture of the Azorean population.
Vector V – Observe to advise
Observe regional policies with impacts on the tourism sector, to perform the functions of Advisory Board for Tourism, of all public entities in the Azores Autonomous Region with responsibilities in this area, promoting the evaluation of tourist policies and advice in the development of new policies, capable of contributing to the sustainable growth of the tourism in the region, that is, for the growth of tourist activities, simultaneously in economic, social and environmental terms.
